THE MAIN TWO INDICATORS:

  • Our school’s Progress 8 score for 2018 is +0.05, which ranks us seventh in Shropshire. 
  • A positive score placed us sixth in 2017 in Shropshire. 
  • In 2016 we were ranked second in Shropshire. 
  • Our school’s Attainment 8 score 48.1. 
  • This score is higher than the national average which is 44.1.

The progress our pupils made in 2017 was strong - especially for Applied courses.   

Our Sixth Form Progress scores are ranked very favourably locally.

Progress scores for A Level rank us second for state schools in Shropshire.

Progress scores for vocational courses rank us FIRST in Shropshire.

Our AS scores (for year 12 students) in 2017 were also very positive.

A few sixth form students completed level two qualifications.  These students did well compared to national scores with progress in English of +1.00 and in maths of +0.40 in 2017.  In 2018 the maths score has risen further to +1.00.

Retention for our students is also strong.  Published data from the DFE shows our retention is 91% (compared to 88% locally and 89% nationally).

DFE Destinations data shows a significant and positive difference between the national picture and our students.  81% of our students went onto sustained further education from our sixth form.  64% went on to Higher education.
