Dear Parents, Guardians and Pupils,
Our Final Ofsted Report has been released to us this week. It will be available on the Ofsted website on 5th June 2018. Copies of the report have been circulated to our school community and a copy of the main text can be seen at the bottom of this page.
You will see the report is in the form of a letter. This is because we had a ‘short inspection’. As a ‘Good’ school, the inspection purpose was to check standards are being maintained. You will be very pleased to hear this is the case and Inspectors also found a number of areas that stood out to them as particularly strong.
The Inspectors told us during the inspection that they were very impressed by our young people. They said they were polite, friendly and proud of their school. You will see some of the things our pupils said to Inspectors in the report, including how much they ‘enjoy school, feel very safe and appreciate the support they receive’.
Inspectors were also impressed by the quality of teaching and learning, which you will see reflected in the report with teaching ‘at least good across the curriculum’. You may recall in our last inspection one or two weaker areas were evident. We are pleased with the recognition of our judgement that teaching is ‘outstanding or good across all subject areas’.
Of course the backbone to any school is its curriculum. Inspectors praised our approaches to this saying we offer ‘an excellent range of academic and vocational courses’ which means our young people are ‘very well prepared for their next steps’.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank staff, on behalf of our community, for their ongoing hard work and professional dedication. I would also like to thank our young people for representing our school and themselves so well. We hope they enjoyed the ice cream treat that we personally gave out in celebration; you may see a couple of photographs in the Bridgnorth Journal this week taken on that day!
