Five students recognised for short story
Five students' work has been selected for publication by Twisted Tales competition.
Before Christmas, some of our students entered the Young Writers Twisted Tales competition - a national contest to write a 100 word short saga from the perspective of a villain.
We are delighted to announce that five of our students have been selected for publication! Each of them received a certificate of merit to commend their work, as well as bookmark.
From Year 7 we would like to congratulate Nancy Fowler, Max Ward and Isabella Davies, from Year 8 we congratulate Eleanor Drinkwater, and from Year 9 well done to Maisie Rollings.
Each of their short stories was unique and gripping and their own ways. Nancy's explored themes of love and loss, whilst Max's depicted a lonely protagonist. Izzy's was themed around a Christmas villain, Eleanor's was about a villain who was trying to be bad but couldn't, and Maisie's followed themes of horror and mystery. Their pieces were descriptive, imaginative and fulfilled the brief given by Young Writers.
We are immensely proud of what our students have achieved - the book is due to be published later this year. Thank you to Miss Silverstone for organising entries. Watch this space as the next competition is already in the pipeline!
