Dear Parent/Guardian
Re: Students Return to school – Re-Boot and Re-Engage
I trust that you are well and have been managing over the summer period during what remain very unprecedented times. As you will be seeing in the daily news, the Covid pandemic remains something we continually consider in our day to day routines, balancing our everyday lives while responding to the many precautionary measures now required throughout society.
Following our previous communication, you will already be aware that in school significant planning was undertaken before the summer period to ensure that everyone would be able to return safely in September within government guidelines communicated at the time. Over the summer we have continued to develop the school site and take appropriate actions to safeguard all students and staff’s safe return.
We previously shared with you our ‘Re-Engage and Re-Boot’ program (http://www.oldburywells.com/parent-information/september-2020-opening) which communicated our thinking as we look towards the start of the new academic year. It is important that you and your child take some time before the start of term to familiarise yourself with this information so that you are fully aware as to how things will work to support each other.
A reminder that there is a staggered start to the year as outlined below, finer detail can be found in the booklet outlined :
- Monday, 31st August Bank Holiday
- Tuesday, 1st September Staff Training Day (Year 12 - In school for admin/ registration only)
- Wednesday, 2nd September Year 7 & Year 12 In school all day.
- Thursday, 3rd September Year 7, Year 10, Year 11 & Year 12 in school all day.
- Friday, 4th September Year 7, Year 8, Year 9, Year 10, Year 11, Year 12 & Year 13 in school all day.
The Re-Engage and Re-Boot booklet outlines the adjustments we have made in school, these will be constantly reviewed as each year group returns to us. Regular communication between school and home is the key to the programme’s success.
I will be in touch again at the start of the new term to give further feedback and to formally welcome everyone, but felt it was important you received a reminder regarding arrangements at this time.
I wish you all the best for the remainder of the summer period and look forward to meeting you all in the new academic year.
Yours faithfully
Mr Lee Tristham
